Tournez! 11th Annual Revival of Quadrille In Our Schools

Under the leadership of Ms. Valerica Bryson, director of Cultural Education, the 11th Annual Revival of Quadrille in Our Schools extravaganza brought to life 

Students from public, private and parochial schools from across the Territory converged on the St. Croix Central High School gymnasium on Saturday, May 28 for the annual cultural showcase featuring traditional quadrille dance and quelbe music performed by students. The purpose of the event is to engage students in the traditional music and dance of the Virgin Islands in an effort to preserve Virgin Islands' culture.

Claude O. Markoe Elementary & St. Mary’s Catholic School - Cross over Form a line
Ricardo Richards Elementary & Christian Academy – Circle
Eulalie Rivera Elementary & Lew Muckle Elementary -Grand Cross
Flambo Combo -Bertha B. Boshulte Middle School Quadrille Dancers

Juanita Gardine Elementary – Touche
Good Sheppard & Alfredo Andrews Elementary –Sache
Alexander Henderson Elementary & Pearl B. Larsen Elementary -Contrary to the Right
John H. Woodson Jr. High & Elena L. Christian Jr. High & Arthur A. Richards Jr. High – Advance
St. Croix Educational Complex & St. Croix Central High School - Grand Change Grand Seven Step

Quelbe music was played by the Sweet Peppa Quelbe Band and the popular Music In Motion Dance Company provided additional entertainment. Ms. Suzie Bough James served as Mistress of Ceremonies. Assistant Education Commissioner Chermaine Hobson-Johnson gave opening remarks.
